    if I've read that correctly, if it's been previously engineered and that is noted on the rego paper/RMS (RTA) database then it's OK to be re-registered in the future.

    After reading the original notice and now the revision they may not easily stop previously engineered and registered vehicles from being re registered. It opens a whole can of worms as some engineered vehicles (ie mobility access, 3rd row seating, left to right hand drive etc) may still comply to current regulations which makes re engneering pointless.
